Seoul:South Korea's exports reached an unprecedented $115.3 billion in October, marking a significant 93.7 percent increase from the previous year, largely due to a substantial rise in semiconductor exports.

According to Yonhap News Agency, semiconductor exports saw a remarkable 259 percent year-on-year increase, totaling $56.4 billion in October. This surge played a critical role in elevating the overall export figures, as reported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources.

In addition to the export growth, South Korea's imports also rose by 36 percent from the previous year, amounting to $72.78 billion. This resulted in a trade surplus of $42.5 billion for the month.
