North Korea Launches Intermediate-Range Strategic Missile During Drill

Wonsan:Pyongyang The powerful sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un announced that North Korea fired an intermediate-range strategic missile during a drill conducted earlier in the day.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Kim Yo-jong detailed that the missile was launched toward the East Sea of Korea at dawn, and the drill was overseen by Kim Jong-un himself. The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported that a firepower sub-unit carried out the exercise.

South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff detected the missile launch from the Wonsan area, noting the missile traveled over 700 kilometers. Kim Yo-jong emphasized the missile's capability, stating that its special flight mode challenges the tracking abilities of adversaries. She claimed that the wave-like trajectory mode often eludes enemy tracking from initial points.

Furthermore, Kim highlighted the missile's advanced features, including its ability to change flight orbit at low altitudes and the incorporation of artificial intelligence. She asserted that this makes the missile attack unavoidable.

The North Korean Missile Administration informed Kim Jong-un that the missile can be set to at least four different flight orbit modes based on its purpose and target. Kim expressed confidence that no other country would have access to such technology for several years.
