Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced a significant downturn, with several major stocks seeing declines. Notable companies such as Hanwha Aerospace, Korea Zinc, and SK saw substantial drops in their closing prices. Hanwha Aerospace recorded a decrease of 74,000, closing at 1,063,000, while Korea Zinc fell by 25,000 to 1,138,000. SK's shares decreased by 20,000, ending the day at 550,000.
According to Yonhap News Agency, other companies also experienced declines in their stock prices. LOTTE Shopping saw a decrease of 4,100, closing at 115,300. Samsung C and T faced a drop of 11,500, ending at 347,000. Samsung Life's shares fell by 12,500, concluding the trading session at 285,500.
Meanwhile, some companies managed to record gains. Samsung Epis Holding S saw an increase of 2,500, closing at 333,000. Hanchem and Samsung SDS also posted gains, closing at 203,000 and 220,500, respectively. NAVER's shares rose by 2,000, closing at 206,000.
Despite the gains seen by some companies, the overall sentiment in the market was one of decline. Companies like LG Display, KT, and Kakao also faced downturns. LG Display ended at 8,610 with a drop of 240, while KT and Kakao declined by 200 and 150, respectively.
