Kia Tigers’ Adam Oller Shines in KBO Postseason Debut

Accra:Kia Tigers starting pitcher Adam Oller made a significant impact in his first South Korean postseason game on Sunday. The American right-hander limited the LG Twins to two runs on six hits over six innings, striking out eight to lead the Tigers to a 6-3 victory in Game 2 of their best-of-five series in the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) postseason.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Oller, who finished the regular season second in the KBO with a 3.13 ERA and fourth with 180 strikeouts, displayed his prowess in his postseason debut. After a strong start in the first inning, his teammates quickly supported him with a five-run lead, knocking out the opposing pitcher, Im Chan-kyu, early with six hits.

Oller maintained his composure throughout the game, even as the Twins attempted a comeback. In the third inning, after allowing three consecutive hits and a run, catcher Han Jun-su's quick play ended the Twins' rally by catching Park Hae-min off base. Oller conceded another run in the fifth but minimized further damage by retiring key batter Song Chan-eui.

In the sixth inning, Oller struck out the side using his effective slider, which accounted for six of his eight total strikeouts. He threw a total of 94 pitches, mixing in a variety of pitches to keep the Twins' hitters at bay. After Oller's departure, the Tigers' bullpen, led by closer Jeon Sang-hyun, secured the win, with Jeon earning a save by striking out Lee Jae-won at a crucial moment in the eighth inning.
