Yoon to Leave Presidential Residence as Early as Friday

Seoul: Former President Yoon Suk Yeol is scheduled to leave the presidential residence on Friday at the earliest, as he plans to return to his private residence in southern Seoul. This move follows his removal from office last week, officials confirmed on Thursday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, an official at the presidential office stated that "Yoon's departure from the presidential residence is expected within this week," specifying that it will occur between Friday and Sunday. The Presidential Security Service (PSS) has reportedly organized a private residence security team of about 40 people to ensure Yoon's safety. Under current law, Yoon is eligible to receive protection from the PSS for up to 10 years.

Yoon's private residence is located at the Acrovista apartment complex in Seocho-dong, southern Seoul. He previously resided there for six months following his presidential inauguration in May 2022. Yoon and his wife, Kim Keon Hee, are considering relocating to another private residence within the capital area in the future. This consideration is due to their ownership of 11 pet dogs and cats, which, combined with the presence of security guards, may cause inconveniences for their neighbors.
