Goyang: President Yoon Suk Yeol committed to expanding state support for small business owners by increasing subsidies for electricity bills and introducing delivery fee subsidies. Yoon announced these measures during a convention at the KINTEX exhibition hall, emphasizing the vital role of small business owners in the nation's economy. According to Yonhap News Agency, Yoon acknowledged the ongoing challenges faced by small business owners despite signs of economic recovery. He assured them of continued efforts to ensure they benefit from the improving economic conditions. The government has allocated a record 5.9 trillion won (US$4.28 billion) in the next year's budget to assist small business owners. Yoon detailed plans to increase the existing electricity bill subsidy from 200,000 won to 250,000 won for 900,000 small business proprietors. Additionally, the administration will introduce delivery fee subsidies totaling 20 billion won, targeting 680,000 small business owners. These measures are part of the government's strategy to provide tailored support and alleviate financial pressures on small business operators.
