Seoul: GS Engineering and Construction Corp. has reported a remarkable third-quarter net profit of 120.8 billion won (US$87.5 million), marking a staggering 939.5 percent increase from the same period last year. The construction giant revealed these figures in a regulatory filing on Thursday, highlighting significant growth in both operating income and revenue during the July-September period. According to Yonhap News Agency, the company's operating income rose by 35.9 percent year-on-year to reach 81.8 billion won. Meanwhile, revenue saw a slight increase of 0.1 percent, totaling 3.1 trillion won. These results have surpassed market expectations, as analysts had projected a net profit average of 36.6 billion won based on a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency. The exceptional performance of GS Engineering and Construction in the third quarter indicates robust operational strategies and improved market conditions.
