Yoon's call to action follows a tragic incident where a single mother in her 30s took her own life after being harassed by loan sharks, leaving behind her young daughter, according to presidential spokesperson Jeong Hye-jeon in a written briefing. According to Yonhap News Agency, Yoon emphasized the urgent need for prosecutors and police to utilize all available resources to eradicate illegal debt collection practices. He also urged financial regulators to conduct a thorough review of support measures aimed at protecting individuals from falling victim to illegal money lenders. On Monday, Yoon highlighted the significance of addressing increasing inequality in income and education as a priority for the latter half of his term.
