Seoul: South Korea was informed in advance by the United States about its decision to allow Ukraine to utilize long-range missiles to conduct strikes inside Russia, according to the presidential office. According to Yonhap News Agency, U.S. President Joe Biden has reportedly permitted Ukraine to employ Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) weapons for strikes within Russian territory. A senior official accompanying President Yoon Suk Yeol during his visit to Brazil for the Group of 20 summit informed reporters of the U.S.'s decision. However, the official clarified that there have been no discussions between the U.S. and South Korea regarding the latter providing arms to Ukraine. The official stated, "As allies, South Korea and the U.S. can exchange necessary weapons if needed. However, I would like to clarify that no decisions have been made, nor have detailed discus sions begun, specifically regarding Ukraine." President Yoon has indicated that South Korea might reconsider its stance on not supplying lethal weapons to Ukraine, contingent on the level of military cooperation between North Korea and Russia.
