Seoul: Talks aimed at securing the release of South Korean workers detained in Georgia have concluded, according to a senior official at South Korea's presidential office. These workers were detained following a recent U.S. immigration raid. The official announced that a chartered plane is on standby to head to the United States once necessary administrative procedures are finalized.

According to Yonhap News Agency, presidential chief of staff Kang Hoon-sik shared these updates during a senior-level meeting involving the ruling Democratic Party and the government. He emphasized that the government is working diligently to complete the remaining procedures promptly, allowing for the swift return of the detained workers to South Korea.

The raid, which occurred on Thursday, resulted in the detention of over 300 South Korean nationals. These individuals were among 457 people taken into custody at a battery plant construction site operated by South Korean companies, Hyundai Motor Group and LG Energy Solution, located in Bryan County.
