Seoul: South Korea's exports jumped 55.6 percent from a year earlier in the first 10 days of March, data showed Wednesday. Outbound shipments reached US$21.5 billion in the March 1-10 period, compared with $13.8 billion tallied a year earlier.

According to Yonhap News Agency, imports during the same period increased by 21.7 percent year-on-year to $19.4 billion. This growth in exports and imports resulted in a trade surplus of $2.1 billion, as indicated by data from the Korea Customs Service. The figures reflect a significant increase in trade activities for South Korea in the early part of March.
