SEOUL: Accounting firms in South Korea saw their combined sales gain 1.8 percent in the fiscal year of 2023, data showed Wednesday. The combined sales of 233 accounting firms stood at 5.8 trillion won (US$4.16 billion) in fiscal 2023 that ended in March of this year, up 100 billion won from a year earlier. According to Yonhap News Agency, the nation's top four accounting firms-Samil PwC, Samjong KPMG, Deloitte Anjin, and EY Hanyoung-accounted for 49.5 percent of total sales in fiscal 2023 at 2.9 trillion won, unchanged from a year earlier. This financial performance highlights the steady growth and significant market control held by the leading firms in the South Korean accounting industry. Despite the economic challenges faced globally, these firms maintained their stronghold on nearly half of the total market share, indicating a stable demand for their services.
