Seoul:Shares in Seoul opened higher on Tuesday, buoyed by gains in U.S. technology stocks, which helped to lift investor sentiment despite ongoing concerns about rising bond yields.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) increased by 40.93 points, or 0.58 percent, reaching 7,044.67 at the start of trading.
Investors are now focusing on the upcoming corporate earnings reports, while remaining cautious due to bond yields being at multidecade highs. Overnight, the Dow Jones Industrial Average saw an increase of 0.18 percent, and the Nasdaq Composite, known for its tech stocks, rose by 1.05 percent.
