Seoul:Police have initiated an investigation into a series of cyber attacks targeting financial institutions.
According to Yonhap News Agency, several banks, including Hana Bank, KB Kookmin Bank, and Shinhan Bank, recently experienced successive breaches affecting customer data.
The National Office of Investigation (NOI) has established a 28-member team to examine potential violations of the information and communications network law.
Officials are also considering whether to transfer the case to the Serious Crime Investigation Agency, which handles cyber crimes against critical state facilities and electronic financial infrastructure.
The NOI emphasized their commitment to conducting a swift and thorough investigation in collaboration with relevant agencies to alleviate public concern.
