Tesero: Para cross-country skier Kim Yun-ji captured her third medal of the ongoing Winter Paralympics in northern Italy on Wednesday. By taking the silver medal in the women's 10-kilometer interval start sitting event at Tesero Cross-Country Skiing Stadium, Kim set a new record for the most medals won by a South Korean athlete at a single Winter Paralympics.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the previous record was held by Shin Eui-hyun, who secured two medals-a gold and a bronze-in para cross-country skiing during the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Paralympics. In Wednesday's competition, Kim finished the race with a time of 26:51.6, trailing the champion, Oksana Masters of the United States, by just 20 seconds. Kendall Gretsch, also from the U.S., claimed the bronze, finishing 36 seconds behind Kim.

Kim's impressive performance adds to her earlier achievements at these Winter Paralympics, where she won gold in the women's individual sitting event in para biathlon and secured another silver in the women's sprint sitting event in para cross-country skiing. With her latest silver medal, South Korea has achieved a new milestone, accumulating a total of four medals at this Winter Paralympics.

Alongside Kim's three medals, South Korea's Lee Je-hyuk contributed to the record by winning a bronze medal in para snowboarding.
