Okazaki:Oh Ye-jin won a silver medal in the women's individual recurve archery at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, following a shoot-off.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Oh competed in the final against Kumkum Anil Mohod of India at the Okazaki Chuo Sogo Park Multipurpose Square in Okazaki, located approximately 50 kilometers southeast of Nagoya, the main host city.
Oh was aiming for South Korea's first gold medal in this category after securing a silver in the women's team recurve event the day before. She initially led the match 3-1 after winning the first set 29-27, with Anil Mohod hitting an 8 on her third arrow. The second set ended in a 29-29 tie, but Anil Mohod's three perfect 10s in the third set brought the score to 3-3.
Oh regained the lead at 5-3 in the fourth set, capitalizing on Anil Mohod's 8 on her second arrow. However, the match proceeded to a shoot-off after Anil Mohod again achieved three 10s in the final set, tying the score at 5-5. In the decisive shoot-off, Oh's 8 was surpassed by Anil Mohod's perfect 10, securing the gold for the Indian archer.
