No Summit with Japan Scheduled Yet Ahead of Talks with Trump: Presidential Office

Seoul: The presidential office announced on Monday that there is currently no confirmed schedule for a summit between President Lee Jae Myung and Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, either before or after President Lee's forthcoming discussions with U.S. President Donald Trump.

According to Yonhap News Agency, presidential spokesperson Kang Yu-jung informed reporters that "there is no set schedule at this time" concerning a meeting with the Japanese Prime Minister. This clarification comes amidst speculation within the ruling bloc that President Lee might make a stopover in Japan for discussions with Ishiba on his return journey from the anticipated South Korea-U.S. summit in Washington, expected to occur within the next two weeks.
