Man Receives Life Sentence for Triple Stabbing in Seoul Pizza Store

Seoul: A Seoul court has sentenced a 41-year-old man to life imprisonment for the fatal stabbing of three individuals at a pizza store in the capital last year.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the Seoul Central District Court imposed the life sentence on Kim Dong-won, who was convicted of murdering three people in Seoul's southwestern ward of Gwanak in September. The incident occurred following a dispute over repairs to the pizza store, which Kim operated as a franchise outlet.

Kim's victims included a pizza franchise company employee, an interior contractor, and the contractor's daughter. The altercation arose after Kim learned he would be responsible for the repair costs. The court noted that the victims experienced pain and fear during the crime and emphasized that Kim has not received forgiveness from the victims' families.

The prosecution had initially sought the death penalty for Kim, but the court ultimately decided on a life sentence, underscoring the seriousness of the crime and the need for strict accountability.
