KOSPI 200 Sees Mixed Performance with Significant Declines in Technology and Heavy Industries

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index displayed a mixed performance as various sectors experienced significant fluctuations in their closing prices. Notably, the technology and heavy industries sectors faced considerable declines, impacting the overall sentiment in the market.

According to Yonhap News Agency, one of the most significant drops was seen in Hanmi Semiconductor, which fell by 52,000 to close at 317,000. Mobis also saw a substantial decrease, dropping 58,000 to 571,000. In the heavy industries sector, Hyundai Glovis declined by 12,000, closing at 230,000, while HD Hyundai Heavy Industries fell by 25,000, ending at 615,000.

Meanwhile, the financial sector also witnessed downward trends with Woori Financial Group declining by 600 to finish at 30,650, and Hana Financial Group dropping by 4,800 to close at 114,200. However, Hanwha Life showed a positive movement in the financial sector, with an increase of 280 to 5,670.

In contrast, some companies managed to record gains despite the prevailing downward trend. Hanwha Aerospace saw an increase of 11,000, closing at 1,227,000, while SK gained 27,000 to close at 530,000. Samsung C and T also ended on a positive note, increasing by 3,000 to 399,500.

Other notable movements included LS Electric dropping by 5,500 to 253,500, Korea Zinc decreasing by 6,000 to 1,420,000, and KEPCO falling by 1,100 to close at 37,650. On the other hand, LS saw a significant rise of 55,500, closing at 528,000.

The mixed performance reflects the varied sentiment across different sectors, with both gains and losses shaping the trading landscape on the KOSPI 200 index.
