Accra:Seoul The national skating federation announced that Seoul will host an international short track speed skating competition in November. The event will take place from November 20 to 22 at Mokdong Ice Rink in western Seoul, as confirmed by the Korea Skating Union (KSU).
According to Yonhap News Agency, the 2026-27 World Tour season is set to kick off this week in Vancouver, with Montreal, another Canadian city, scheduled to host the second leg from October 30 to November 1.
South Korea's team will include prominent athletes such as Choi Min-jeong, the nation's most decorated Olympian with seven career medals, and Kim Gil-li, who recently secured two gold medals and a bronze medal at the Milan-Cortina Winter Games.
The KSU also revealed plans to organize a variety of interactive programs outside the rink, along with K-pop-related events that aim to merge skating with Korean pop music. This marks the third season of the revamped World Tour, previously known as the World Cup. Notably, South Korea hosted the fourth leg of the inaugural World Tour season in December 2024, but did not host any events during the 2025-26 season.
Each World Tour event will comprise four men's events, four women's events, and one mixed event.
