Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index saw a varied performance with several major stocks experiencing declines in their closing prices. The index observed significant movements among its constituents, reflecting a mix of upward and downward trends across different sectors.
According to Yonhap News Agency, notable declines were recorded for Samsung Life, which fell by 25,000 to close at 368,000. Samsung Electronics Mechanical also experienced a substantial drop of 165,000, closing at 1,805,000. Other significant declines included LG Electronics, which decreased by 24,000 to end at 224,000, and Hyosung Heavy, which saw a decrease of 30,000, closing at 3,437,000. Additionally, SK Telecom and Hankook Tire and Technology both registered declines, with their prices dropping by 2,400 each.
In contrast, some stocks showed positive movement. KT rose by 2,100 to close at 55,900 and Daewoong Pharm increased by 2,600, ending the session at 120,900. Hanchem also saw an increase, rising by 15,500 to close at 262,000. Meanwhile, OCI Holdings and Kolon Industries experienced increases of 7,500 and 4,900, respectively.
The financial sector had mixed outcomes, with Meritz Financial dropping by 900 to close at 108,200, while iM Financial Group saw a slight rise of 20, ending at 17,300. BNK Financial Group and Shinhan Group both experienced declines, with their prices decreasing by 290 and 3,000, respectively. Woori Financial Group also saw a minor decline, dropping by 200 to close at 29,800.
