Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced a notable downturn as several prominent companies reported declines in their closing prices. The iM Financial Group saw its price fall to 17,910, marking a decrease of 240. Similarly, emart's shares dropped by 3,300 to close at 99,200. HANKOOK TIRE and TECHNOLOGY's shares decreased by 400, ending at 61,800. KOLMAR KOREA, HANJINKAL, and CHONGKUNDANG also reported declines, closing at 92,200, 111,400, and 79,700 respectively.
According to Yonhap News Agency, DoubleUGames and KRAFTON were among the few companies that saw an increase, with DoubleUGames rising by 1,300 to 60,400 and KRAFTON increasing by 3,000 to 282,000. However, other major companies like SAMSUNG BIOLOGICS and HD HYUNDAI ELECTRIC faced significant losses, closing at 1,386,000 and 1,147,000, down by 33,000 and 32,000 respectively.
The report also highlighted declines for companies such as HyundaiAutoever, which dropped by 52,000 to close at 596,000, and LG Corp., which saw a decrease of 10,600, ending at 115,400. Meanwhile, companies like MIWON SC and HANWHA SYSTEMS reported gains, closing at 111,800 and 106,100, up by 2,200 and 1,800 respectively.
Overall, the market saw a mixed performance with companies like ECOPRO MAT and SK ie technology experiencing declines, while others such as HDHMS and DWEC showed positive movements, closing at 221,000 and 29,300, up by 5,500 and 800 respectively. The day's trading reflected a challenging environment for many firms on the KOSPI 200 index.
