Seoul: Korean Air Co. announced that it will commence the migration of Asiana Airlines bookings and flight numbers to its system starting in November. This initiative is in preparation for the complete integration of the two carriers, scheduled for December.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Korean Air plans to execute the migration in stages from November 2 through December 3. During this period, Asiana passengers will find their bookings reissued under Korean Air flight numbers, with the current OZ code being replaced by the KE code. This migration will affect existing Asiana bookings for flights departing on or after December 17, coinciding with the planned merger of the two airlines.

The airline emphasized that transferring bookings in advance is a measure to minimize potential disruptions and ensure a seamless transition to Korean Air's system. The merger of Asiana Airlines with Korean Air follows the approval from Asiana's shareholders in August, marking the conclusion of nearly six years of Korean Air's acquisition process.
