Abu dhabi: The Korea International Trade Association (KITA) announced the formation of a joint committee with the United Arab Emirates' business chamber to enhance economic cooperation between South Korea and the UAE.
According to Yonhap News Agency, KITA and the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry held a launching ceremony for the committee in Abu Dhabi on Monday. The agreement focuses on fostering collaboration in key sectors such as artificial intelligence (AI), advanced manufacturing, mobility, and renewable energy.
Major Korean companies operating in the Middle East, including POSCO International Corp., Wrtn Technologies, and Kakao Mobility Corp., attended the ceremony, KITA reported.
KITA Chairman Yoon Jin-sik emphasized South Korea's position as an ideal partner for the UAE, citing the country's advanced technological capabilities and economic growth experience. Yoon highlighted the potential for cooperation beyond existing energy and supply chain partnerships, specifically in AI, advanced manufacturing, mobility, and renewable energy sectors.
