Seoul: KG Mobility Corp. announced on Friday that its sales for July increased by 15.7 percent compared to the previous year, buoyed by robust demand for its vehicles in both domestic and international markets. The South Korean automaker reported sales of 9,620 units for the month, a significant rise from the 8,313 units sold in July of the previous year.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the company's domestic sales reached 4,456 units, marking a 5.2 percent increase year-on-year. This growth follows the mid-July release of the Actyon Hybrid, which has contributed to the upswing in local demand. On the international front, exports saw a substantial 26.7 percent increase, totaling 5,164 units. KG Mobility attributes part of this export growth to the heightened demand for the Torres EVX SUV in Turkey.
Despite the positive figures for July, the company noted a decline in cumulative sales for the first seven months of the year. From January to July, sales dropped 3.1 percent to 62,892 units, compared to 64,878 units during the same period last year. KG Mobility, which focuses on sport utility vehicles (SUVs), offers a lineup that includes eight models: the Actyon, Tivoli, Korando, Rexton, Torres, the all-electric Torres EVX SUV, Musso Sports pickup, and Musso EV pickup.
"The full-fledged launch of the Actyon Hybrid led to a recovery in domestic sales, setting a new record this year," the company stated, emphasizing its commitment to bolstering sales through various marketing strategies in the global market.
