KB Financial Group Achieves Record Net Profit in 2025

Seoul: KB Financial Group announced on Thursday that its net profit surged by 15.1 percent in 2025 compared to the previous year, reaching a historic high. This remarkable growth was attributed to increases in both interest and non-interest income.

According to Yonhap News Agency, KB Financial Group's net income for the year amounted to 5.84 trillion won (approximately US$4 billion), marking an increase of 765 billion won from 2024, as reported in its regulatory filing. The financial group's impressive performance was largely driven by a 1.9 percent year-on-year rise in interest income, which totaled 13.37 trillion won. Additionally, non-interest income, which includes fees and commissions, saw a significant jump of 16 percent to 4.87 trillion won.

In the fourth quarter of 2025, KB Financial Group recorded a net profit of 721 billion won, representing a decrease of 54 percent compared to the previous quarter. The group reported an operating profit of 8.53 trillion won for the year, up from 8.04 trillion won in 2024. However, annual sales experienced a decline of 4.5 percent, falling to 81.37 trillion won during the same period.

The flagship unit, KB Kookmin Bank, also demonstrated robust performance, with its net profit totaling 3.86 trillion won in 2025, reflecting an 18.8 percent increase from the previous year.
