Seoul: Singer-actress IU is set to release a new digital single this Thursday, marking her first musical release in exactly a year.

According to Yonhap News Agency, IU's agency, Edam Entertainment, announced that "Unknown Planet" will drop at 6 p.m. across all major music streaming platforms. This new single comes exactly one year after her surprise digital single "Bye, Summer," which was released on September 10, 2025.

The upcoming project will feature double lead tracks, "Unknown Planet" and "Dear My Crazy Soulmate," both penned by IU herself. These tracks are also part of her forthcoming sixth studio album, which had been postponed earlier due to health issues.

Accompanying the single release is the music video for "Dear My Crazy Soulmate," where IU will be seen portraying a police officer. The video for "Unknown Planet" is scheduled to premiere at midnight the following Tuesday.
