Seoul: HD Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co. announced a 13.1 percent decrease in its net income for the second quarter, totaling 25.2 billion won (US$18.1 million).

According to Yonhap News Agency, the company revealed in a regulatory filing that its operating income for the April-June period surged by 413.8 percent on-year, reaching 89.4 billion won. During the same period, the company's revenue also saw an increase of 9.3 percent, amounting to 1.23 trillion won.

The operating profit exceeded expectations by 16.7 percent, based on a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm associated with Yonhap News Agency. However, there was no available estimate for the net profit.
