BTS Named Honorary Guests of Bogota Ahead of Latin America Tour

Bogota:Global K-pop sensation BTS has been named "honorary guests" of Bogota in recognition of their contribution to culture and their influence on youth. This title was awarded by the mayor of Bogota, Colombia's capital, in anticipation of the group's Latin American tour kickoff, as announced by their label.

According to Yonhap News Agency, BigHit Music shared that this honorary title is given to notable visitors who have made significant contributions to the welfare of citizens or urban development in areas such as arts, politics, and public service. BTS received the honor for their role in elevating the global profile of Korean music and culture since their debut in 2013.

BTS will begin the Latin American leg of their "Arirang" world tour with two performances at Estadio Nemesio Camacho El Campin in Bogota. These concerts mark BTS's first full-group appearance in Colombia.

City officials anticipate that the concerts will provide a substantial economic boost. The Bogota tourism organization projects that spending by attendees on various services and goods, including accommodation and local transport, will total approximately 40.6 billion won, equivalent to US$30 million.

Following their performances in Bogota, BTS will continue their tour with stops in Lima, Santiago, Buenos Aires, and Sao Paulo.
