YG Entertainment to Debut New Five-Member Boy Group in September

Seoul: K-pop agency YG Entertainment's first boy group in six years is set to launch in September with five members, the company announced Thursday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, YG had previously unveiled a plan to launch a new boy group this fall. The announcement was made by Yang Hyun-suk, founder and executive producer of YG Entertainment, in a video posted on the company's official blog. He disclosed that the group would consist of five members but did not provide further details, including the group's name.

The last boy group launched by YG was TREASURE, which debuted in August 2020. Yang also mentioned that the company would gradually reveal more information about its upcoming intellectual properties and rookie artists, indicating a broader debut lineup that includes a new girl group tentatively named Next Monster.

Additionally, YG has major projects lined up for this year, including new albums from Babymonster and TREASURE, as well as a world tour by BIGBANG to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
