Vice Defense Minister Evaluates Heat Safety at Army Boot Camp Amid Intense Heat Wave

Seoul: Vice Defense Minister Lee Doo-hee on Monday visited an Army boot camp in the central region to inspect training systems and safety measures amid the extreme heat wave, the defense ministry said. Lee's visit to the Army Training Center, located approximately 150 kilometers south of Seoul, focused on evaluating the preparedness of preventive measures against heat-related illnesses and the availability of emergency medical supplies.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the vice minister's visit was also an opportunity to encourage service members who are enduring the scorching heat. He emphasized the importance of prioritizing thorough inspections and implementing measures to guarantee the safety of conscripts during training sessions. Lee urged commanders and personnel to remain vigilant in their efforts to protect the wellbeing of the conscripts under these extreme weather conditions.
