Seoul: Teen phenom Lamine Yamal grabbed a brace and Polish star Robert Lewandowski also found the back of the net, as FC Barcelona defeated FC Seoul 7-3 in their preseason friendly match in Seoul on Thursday. Barca celebrated their first appearance in South Korea in 15 years with a performance before 62,482 fans at Seoul World Cup Stadium.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Barcelona coach Hansi Flick started three of the club's brightest stars, with Yamal, Lewandowski, and Raphinha leading the attack, and midfielders Pedri and Dani Olmo also joining them. Lewandowski opened the scoring with an easy goal in the eighth minute after Yamal's shot hit the post and bounced back to him. Yamal scored his first goal in the 14th minute with a left-footed shot.
FC Seoul responded in the 26th minute when Kim Jin-su set up Cho Young-wook for a goal. Jordanian defender Yazan Al-Arab equalized for FC Seoul during stoppage time. However, moments later, Yamal scored again, reclaiming the lead for Barcelona.
In the second half, Barcelona changed their entire starting lineup. Marcus Rashford, on loan from Manchester United, was among the substitutions. Andreas Christensen extended Barca's lead with a long-distance shot in the 55th minute. Ferran Torres, Gavi, and Rashford contributed to the scoring, leading to a final score of 7-3.
FC Barcelona's next match is against Daegu FC at Daegu Stadium on Monday.
