Xiaomi Unveils Eight New Products in Strategic Move to Strengthen Foothold in South Korea

Seoul: The South Korean arm of Chinese tech giant Xiaomi Corp. has announced the launch of eight new gadgets and home appliances, aiming to strengthen its foothold in the South Korean market. The launch marks a strategic effort by Xiaomi to expand its presence and cater to the growing demand for premium products in the region.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the newly launched products include the flagship Xiaomi 15T Pro smartphone and the Xiaomi Pad Mini tablet. Jony Wu, the general manager at Xiaomi Korea, highlighted that 40 percent of Xiaomi smartphones sold since the opening of their first store in South Korea three months ago were high-end models. This trend signifies a robust demand for premium devices among South Korean consumers.

Wu further elaborated on the company's plans to enhance local partnerships by opening two additional stores this week in collaboration with retail giant E-Land Group. He also mentioned upcoming collaborations with Hyundai Department Store to boost the company's offline presence. Additionally, Xiaomi is exploring potential partnerships in mobility and payments with T-money, a service integral to the daily lives of millions of Koreans.

Xiaomi is extending its reach into various online platforms through collaborations with SSG.com Corp. and Naver Corp., aiming to make its products more accessible to South Korean consumers. In an effort to improve customer service, Xiaomi plans to open the Exclusive Service Center in central Seoul in October, which will focus on enhancing warranty services for local users.
