Woman in 60s Dies After Collision with Hagwon Bus in Western Seoul

Seoul: A woman in her 60s died after crashing her car into a hagwon bus while driving on the wrong side of the road in western Seoul, police said Friday. The incident, which resulted in injuries to six individuals, occurred at an intersection in Yeongdeungpo Ward.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the vehicle initially collided with a roadside tree before crashing into the bus operated by a private education institution at approximately 3:25 p.m. The crash resulted in the death of the car driver. The bus driver and a teacher who were present on the bus sustained injuries, alongside four pedestrians who suffered minor injuries. Fortunately, no students were on the bus at the time of the accident, police confirmed.

Investigators are set to determine the cause of the crash by reviewing security camera footage from the area and examining the black boxes from other vehicles involved. Additionally, they have sought assistance from forensic authorities to conduct an analysis of the damaged vehicle and an autopsy of the deceased driver.
