Seoul: Six more people were reported to have been injured from last month's wildfires in the country's southeastern regions, bringing the total number of casualties to 82, authorities said Thursday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, as of 9 p.m., one additional person was reported to have been seriously injured, as well as five others with minor injuries from the wildfires that ravaged the southeastern region until last week, according to the wildfire response headquarters.
Authorities confirmed the additional injuries after conducting damage assessments from the wildfires. With the latest update, a total of 31 people have been killed and 51 injured from the wildfires, with nine of them suffering serious injuries.
By region, North Gyeongsang Province suffered the most casualties, with 27 killed from the wildfires.
