Viva Republica Swings to Black in Q3 on Business Growth.

Seoul: Viva Republica, which operates the country's third internet-only banking firm, Toss Bank, announced on Thursday that it achieved a net profit in the third quarter, transitioning from a loss in the same period last year due to growth across its business sectors and increased gains from equity ties with its affiliates. According to Yonhap News Agency, Viva Republica reported a net profit of 3.94 billion won (US$2.81 million) for the July-September period, a significant improvement from a net loss of 57.1 billion won a year earlier. This financial turnaround was disclosed in a regulatory filing by the lender. Viva Republica attributed its improved financial performance to the expansion of its lending brokering business, advertising revenue, and other ventures, alongside increased gains from equity ties with its affiliates. The company's operating income in the third quarter reached 10.9 billion won, reversing from an operating loss of 51.4 billion won in the previous year. Additionally, the company's revenues saw a substantial increase of 47.5 percent on-year, reaching 502 billion won. This surge in revenue highlights the successful growth trajectory of Viva Republica's diverse business activities, contributing to its overall profitability.
