Seoul: First Vice Foreign Minister Park Yoon-joo will travel to the United States next week to hold talks with his U.S. counterpart on the next steps following the recently finalized bilateral security and tariff agreements between the two countries, the foreign ministry said Friday. On the first day of his trip that will run from next Monday through Wednesday, Park will meet with Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau for vice foreign ministerial talks, the ministry said.

According to Yonhap News Agency, both sides will discuss ways to speedily pursue the following steps from the summits between President Lee Jae Myung and U.S. President Donald Trump, as well as regional and global issues. Seoul and Washington released the agreements from the two summits so far between Lee and Trump, including the latest on Oct. 29 in the South Korean city of Gyeongju, in a joint fact sheet earlier this month, outlining Seoul's US$350 billion investment pledge and Washington's approval of South Korea's push to build nuclear-powered submarines.
