Vice Defense Minister Inspects Military’s Readiness in Mobilizing Choppers Against Wildfires

Seoul: Vice Defense Minister Lee Doo-hee on Wednesday inspected the military's readiness in mobilizing helicopters to tackle wildfires during his visit to the Army's aviation command, the defense ministry said. The inspection was conducted to ensure the military's capability for swift responses to wildfires as the autumn season approaches, with potential requests for assistance from the Korea Forest Service and other agencies.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Lee examined the water tanks and other firefighting equipment on the CH-47 Chinook and Black Hawk helicopters. He also met with military helicopter pilots to offer encouragement and support in their efforts to prepare for possible firefighting missions.
