U.S. Sales of Galaxy Z Fold 7 Surge by 50 Percent in First Week: Samsung

Seoul: Samsung Electronics Co. reported a significant milestone in the U.S. market as sales of its Galaxy Z Fold 7 smartphone surged by 50 percent in the first week following its launch, compared to its predecessor. This increase highlights the growing demand for foldable smartphones among consumers.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Samsung revealed that preorders for both the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and its clamshell-style counterpart, the Galaxy Z Flip 7, rose by 25 percent compared to the previous models. The company noted that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 received more preorders than any other Z Fold device in U.S. history, although specific figures were not disclosed.

The shift in consumer preferences was evident in the choice of color for the Z Fold smartphones. Traditionally favored in black, the latest generation saw blue become the most popular color, accounting for nearly half of all preorders. Additionally, red devices surpassed expectations, comprising 25 percent of preorders for the Galaxy Z Flip 7.

In South Korea, Samsung announced that preorders for the two new foldable models reached 1.04 million units, setting a new record and surpassing the previous high of 1.02 million units achieved by the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5. The earlier Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 series had recorded 910,000 units in preorders within the same market.
