Washington: U.S. President Donald Trump will only make a "good" deal with Iran that satisfies his "redlines," a White House official stated Friday, after a Situation Room meeting concluded without any decision announcement.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the official emphasized that Iran cannot possess a nuclear weapon. The meeting lasted approximately two hours, during which Trump reiterated his stance that any agreement with Iran must align with America's interests and his specified conditions.

On Thursday, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent outlined Trump's three "redline" demands: Iran must commit to not pursuing a nuclear weapon, surrender its stockpile of highly enriched uranium, and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Trump's comments before the meeting indicated his intent to reach a "final determination," as discussions suggested a potential agreement on a 60-day memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran.

Trump's statements on Truth Social reinforced his demands, insisting that Iran must agree never to develop nuclear weapons. He also called for the Strait of Hormuz to be opened for unrestricted shipping traffic, without tolls, and highlighted the removal of sea mines by the U.S. military. He noted that any remaining mines would be dealt with by Iran.

Regarding the naval blockade, Trump mentioned that ships affected by it could now return home, sending greetings to families from "your favorite President." Additionally, he addressed Iran's enriched uranium, buried after a U.S. B-2 bomber attack, stating it would be unearthed and destroyed with the cooperation of the United States, Iran, and the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Trump concluded with a financial stipulation, noting that no money would be exchanged until further notice, despite Iran's requests for the release of frozen assets and sanction relief amid its economic difficulties.
