Seoul: Prosecutor General Shim Woo-jung has offered to resign, legal sources said Tuesday, about nine months since he took the post. Shim tendered his resignation the previous day and will release a statement later in the day, according to the sources.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Shim's retirement ceremony will take place on Wednesday.
