Mr. Banchong Sukritha, secretary general of the Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) revealed that from the case of a fire extinguisher containing carbon dioxide gas exploded in a school in Bangkok, causing a student death. Including the case of a gas can exploded inside a pork pan shop that is often news. for public safety Therefore, the review of the standard of fire extinguishers and all types of gas containers that are similar to the aforementioned case has been expedited. To prepare to draft a standard to upgrade to a controlled product At the meeting of the Industrial Standards Committee (TIS.) on August 15, 2023, the board agreed in principle to declare it as a controlled product. In particular, the standard for carrying carbon dioxide fire extinguishers, TIS 881-2532, which was originally a general standard that entrepreneurs could apply for TIS voluntarily. therefore preparing to draft a declaration to be a controlled product The same applies to dry chemical powder and foam fire extinguishers. In addition to the standard for carbon dioxide fire extinguishers, TISI has also drafted standards for aerosol cans, TIS 974-2533, which are containers with internal pressure and are products with similar risks. Previously, the aerosol can standard was a general standard that had been announced for a long time. The standards will be drafted to be up-to-date and consistent with current production technology.
