Incheon: The SSG Landers announced their re-signing of pitcher Drew Anderson for his second season in South Korea on Sunday. The Landers have secured Anderson's services with a one-year deal worth up to US$1.2 million, including a guaranteed salary of $1.15 million and an additional $50,000 in incentives. According to Yonhap News Agency, Anderson joined the Landers in the middle of the 2024 Korea Baseball Organization season, replacing struggling starter Robert Dugger. During his stint, Anderson made 24 starts, achieving an 11-3 record with a 3.89 ERA and tallying 158 strikeouts in 115 2/3 innings. Notably, he became the fastest KBO pitcher to reach 100 strikeouts in a season, boasting an impressive 12.3 strikeouts per nine innings. The re-signing of Anderson follows the Landers' acquisition of former major league pitcher Mitch White. With these two right-handers, the Landers have finalized their foreign pitching roster for the 2025 season, adhering to the KBO policy that allows teams to carry a maximum of two overseas pitchers. The addition of Anderson and White is expected to strengthen the Landers' pitching lineup, with both predicted to be among the hardest-throwing starters in the league next year. Consequently, the team has parted ways with left-hander Roenis Elias, who had started 44 games for them over the past two seasons.
