Special Counsel Investigates False Voter Turnout Data by Local Commissions

Seoul:A special counsel team has revealed that 30 local election commissions entered false voter turnout data during the June 3 local elections.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the investigation led by special counsel Lee Tae-han uncovered false alterations to voter turnout figures after examining turnout records and questioning more than 70 election workers.

Investigators from the team conducted searches at the National Election Commission in Gwacheon and six local offices, including Busan's Nam Ward, to collect evidence related to these allegations.

The special counsel team was established last month to address issues of ballot shortages and allegations of election data manipulation and other misconduct by the election watchdog during the June elections.
