Tokyo:South Korea's Nam Dong-heon achieved a significant victory by winning the gold medal in the individual dressage event at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on Sunday. This marks the country's first Asiad title in this category in 12 years.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Nam delivered an impressive performance, scoring 75.190 points to clinch first place in the final held at Equestrian Park in Tokyo.

In the competition, Yu Jiayi of China earned the silver medal with a close 75.050 points, while Aleksandra Maksakova of Palestine took the bronze with 74.935 points.

This triumph is particularly notable for South Korea, as it is their first win in the individual dressage event since the 2014 Asian Games held in Incheon. Additionally, Nam added to his accolades by winning a silver medal in the team dressage event on Friday.
