Seoul: South Korea's exports experienced a decline of 17.8 percent year-on-year during the first 10 days of November, according to data released on Monday. Outbound shipments for this period amounted to US$14.91 billion, a decrease from the $18.13 billion recorded in the same timeframe the previous year, as reported by the Korea Customs Service. According to Yonhap News Agency, imports during the same period fell by 21 percent year-on-year to $15.77 billion, leading to a trade deficit of $900 million. This decline in exports comes after a period of consistent growth, as October figures showed a 4.6 percent increase year-on-year, reaching US$57.5 billion, marking the 13th consecutive month of export gains. The data reflects the ongoing challenges faced by South Korea's trade sector amid global economic uncertainties. The decrease in both exports and imports suggests potential shifts in demand and supply dynamics affecting the country's international trade activities.
