South Korea Falls to Denmark in Women’s Curling at Milan-Cortina Olympics

Milan: South Korea lost to Denmark 6-3 in the women's curling tournament at the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, ending their two-match winning streak. Skip Gim Eun-ji's team from South Korea never led against Madeleine Dupont's Denmark at the Cortina Curling Olympic Stadium in Cortina d'Ampezzo, located 260 kilometers northeast of Milan. According to Yonhap News Agency, South Korea's record now stands at 2-2. The team had started the competition with a loss to the United States but managed to secure victories against Italy and Britain before facing defeat on Saturday. In the ongoing nine-match round-robin stage, South Korea is set to play against Japan on Sunday. South Korea is aiming to capture its second Olympic curling medal, having previously won a silver in the women's event in 2018. The match against Denmark was tied at 2-2 through five ends, before Denmark scored a point each in the sixth and seventh ends to take a 4-2 lead. South Korea managed to close the gap with a point in the eighth end, but Dupo nt's effective hit-and-roll shot in the ninth end extended Denmark's lead to 5-3. In the final end, a failed takeout attempt by Gim allowed Denmark to score the last point, sealing the match at 6-3 in Denmark's favor.
