Busan: South Korea and France conducted joint naval training on Wednesday to enhance their maritime security cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region, the South's Navy announced. The exercise occurred in waters near the southeastern port city of Busan, 325 kilometers southeast of Seoul, involving the South's 4,400-ton ROKS Choi Young destroyer and Lynx helicopter, alongside France's 2,600-ton FS Prairial frigate. According to Yonhap News Agency, Wednesday's training focused on strengthening interoperability between the two nations in communications, maneuvering tactics, and shipborne takeoff and landing. This joint exercise is the latest in a series of naval drills conducted with friendly nations, including the Netherlands, Germany, and Australia, throughout the year.
