Gyeongju: SK Group announced plans to conduct two significant artificial intelligence (AI) events this fall as it seeks to spearhead global dialogues on future growth opportunities in the AI-driven era.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the conglomerate will kick off with the Future Tech Forum on October 28, coinciding with the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) CEO Summit in Gyeongju, South Korea.
The forum, themed "National AI Ecosystem," aims to facilitate discussions on AI strategies and cooperation at a national level, transcending individual corporate interests. The event will see participation from prominent AI experts and government officials, including SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, Naver Corp. CEO Choi Soo-yeon, and Ha Jung-woo, senior presidential secretary for AI. Key figures like Kim Kyoung-hoon, head of OpenAI Korea, and Matt Garman, CEO of Amazon Web Services (AWS), will also be in attendance.
On the same day, SK Group plans to unveil its AI data center solutions featuring technologies from its major affiliates, including SK hynix Inc., SK Telecom Co., and SK Enmove Co.
Subsequently, the SK AI Summit 2025 is scheduled for November 3-4 in Seoul. This annual event, held under the theme "AI Now and Next," will assess SK Group's AI advancements and outline future strategies. It will gather officials and developers from startups, academia, and global enterprises to explore AI applications in services, energy, data management, and semiconductors, as well as strategies for international collaboration.
"We will use the APEC event as an opportunity to share our national AI ecosystem strategy with the world and showcase the value-creating AI ecosystem we have built across all sectors, from semiconductors to energy and services," an SK Group official stated.
