SEOUL: SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won has been elected as the leader of the board of directors of Solidigm, a NAND flash memory solutions subsidiary of SK hynix Inc., a report said Thursday. At a board meeting in September, Chey was appointed as a board member of Solidigm and also elected to take on the role of board chairman. According to Yonhap News Agency, Solidigm, a subsidiary of SK hynix, was established in 2021 following the acquisition of Intel Corp.'s NAND and SSD division in 2020. The company has shown promising financial performance, posting 78.6 billion won (US$56 million) in net profit for the second quarter of 2024. This marks its first profitable quarter since SK hynix's takeover.
